I am exhausted. All the time. I don't have any problem going to sleep, but once I'm there, I can't seem to STAY asleep. I have been waking up at 2:30 AM every night this week and not going back. I don't know what to do and I am so so so very tired.

Do any of you ladies have (or had) this problem? If so, do you have any suggestions of what to do about it? It is really affecting my work and personal life (as well as mental stability).

Thanks for any help!!

Nothing really helps me. I wake up 3-4 times a night to pee. I'm like a zombie, it kinda sucks. I was so tired that I slept 12 hours lastnight but I needed it. I don't really have any advice with what you can try but it probably will last a while, maybe a way to prep you for whats to come once the baby is born.

I am having this so frequently I believe it has made me get sick. I was a walking zombie. I have recently started taking a bath to help relax me and no TV before bed. This has helped a bit.

Unisom sleep tabs. They are safe during pregnancy. DON'T take the unisom liquigels. That active ingredient is different and they are not safe.

My OB said I could take Gravol.. so I took 1/2 tab last night and slept like a baby for the first time in over a week

Gravol is a great tip! Im having the samethis and everyone at work is asking me if Im ok, because I look like a wreck! lol

Maybe try and glass of warm milk with a drop of honey. That sometimes helps me. I hope you find something to help you sleep. :)

Well, I wake up usually to pee. If this is the case, limiting your liquids two hours before bed can help a bit. Also, I have a hot date with hubby tonight to look for a pregnancy pillow. I've heard they work wonders in getting preggies comfortable.

About the gravol - my doctor told me its absolutely not safe during pregnancy. Thats why they make the prescription drug Diclectin to treat morning sickness. There have been studies done on animals showing no damage to the fetus, but no studies done on pregnant women.

Here's a link that outlines the possible risks to the baby:

i agree. gravol is not safe and it says right on the box not to take it while pregnant.

They do a herbal ginger gravol, and I have been told regular is safe by my OB and pharmacist. It seems there is a bit of conflicting information on this one.

Me too, and it's driving me (and DH) nuts. It seems like I sleep hard for about 4-5 hours, then I'm awake - usually around 3am. I'm still trying to find a solution that works!

You can try Tylenol PM. But the same went on with me for about a week and it doesn't happen anymore. I would wake at 5:30 am and stay awake until 7 am. I just stayed in bed so even though I wasn't asleep, I was still resting.

Oh yeah, and I have a body pillow which is a LIFE SAVER!!! :happydance:

When I was pregnant (I lost it at 10 weeks in July), I woke up every morning at 3 a.m., and COULD NOT go back to sleep for the life of me. Then, the rest of the day, I was utterly exhausted. And unfortunately, it never got better, and it didn't improve. I tried NOT napping during the day, and going to bed a bit later. Still up at 3 a.m....

Not trying to discourage you, but I'll bet it's one of those things that goes away in your 2nd Tri. :)
