I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right place so forgive if i've got it wrong!
I'm 28 been trying to loose weight for 4 years (never managed to shift more than 7lbs) when i was at uni (6 years ago) i successfully lost about 36lbs but not managed to keep it off.
anyway speeding on i had tests at the hospital which determined i had IBS. they never did any bloodworks or anything, just internals
so for 4 years i've been unsuccessful loosing weight, i suffer with fatigue, constipation (despite IBS meds) and long, infrequent cycles which i discovered when i came off the pill to TTC last year. (6 cycles in 12months)
anyway i had some fertility tests at the hospital (despite being PG when i turned up for the fertility specialist appointment) and they took blood etc.
I went to the GP yesterday to confirm my pregnancy with her and my tests had come back stating i was hypothyroid! Midwife was in a frenzy as i hadn't met her yet and i now fall in the risk category as my thyroid issue is currently untreated!
so got home did a bit of research and it seems to tick all the boxes for the issues i've suffered with for 4 years!! i do wonder why blood tests were never done before, my IBS could have been my thyroid issue all along! but it also explains why i have such a hard time loosing weight. been going to SW for years and it just stopped working and since PG i've lost 6lbs without even trying!!!
i guess i'm not wanting answers to my thread but i guess i'm more peeved that i was put through all those horrid IBS tests to rule out chrons disease and bowel cancers for nothing!
Thanks for listening!
