So we've had our ultrasound at 8 weeks, heard heartbeat at 12, and told all of my family, friends and cowrorkers within the last week.

I was dipping my toes in 2nd trimester and noticed at the bottom of someone's ticker that they had terminated two pregnancies and put the reasons why (just the name) and me being curious (and stupid!!!!) googled the names of the conditions. I don't think it would have traumatised me...but it had pictures!!! It showed pictures of the baby being very malformed and I was ok yesterday but this morning when I woke up the picture was the first thing I thought about.

So how do I erase that from my memory?! My 20 week to show problems isn't until January. I'm hoping if my private gender scan finds some big problem they will let me know, right? I mean the condition would be obvious on the ultrasound... I refused testing because if it's down syndrome we'll keep the baby but I didn't know about all the other scary things!!

I'll try to remember this feeling next time I think about googling!

The dangers of the internet ! I am the same I read things online and scare myself, but I'm trying not to do that now as its easy to get things wrong or feel negative about something. The internet is wonderful but it can also be misleading ! Try not to think about the negative things you have read, look at some of the positive happy stories on here and hopefully you will feel better ! Its not all bad. :happydance:

Great idea, I'll look at happy sites!! Wont erase it, but maybe move it to the back of my brain.

I'm about twelve weeks as well. I stopped looking at google, I had to. My Doctor told me that after you see the HB your chance of MC goes down to less than 5%

Please take it from a third tri-er - never google anything pregnancy related!

You just end up scared & worried...

I'm sure your LO will be perfectly fine :hugs:

i hate google do not use it during pregnancy its just not worth it :) x

I did in the beginning and then stopped and was really good. Not worried about miscarriages now, just deformaties. I guess I'll worry about SOMETHING during LO's entire life, but googling doesn't help... Thanks Ladies.
