Here I thought she was BIG! Had Charlotte's 9mo well baby checkup today and she was only in the 25% for height and weight. Doc said it's okay cause she's proportioned since both are low, but that she's small for her age! She was 17lbs 7oz and 27" long. Seems big to me, but...does that seem small to anyone else? She was 20" at birth and 7lbs 12oz. He did say that developmentally she's right on track and looks perfect...just small!:dohh: Oh...and that she should be taking 24oz of formula a day, but she only takes about 18-20...that's all she wants!

I wouldn't worry too much. My daughter turned one in Jan and is only about 18lbs. She's walking and talking but is still petite.
I'm sure she'll catch up in due time. As long as she's getting her nutrients she should be ok!!

Probably what the doctor meant is that in comparison to most babies her age, she is small-not small in general. I think she is fine!

My son is in the 25% for weight and he is a healthy and happy little boy. He doesn't really have any chub other then his leg but he is also in the 90% for height. He eats like such a pig though, three big meals a day + snacks and 24 oz of milk. I wouldn't worry about it as long as she stays near the 25% as she grows.

I wouldn't worry too much! all baby's grow at different rates. And in my opinion the weight and measurements don't sound too small to me!

Caitlyn's 17lb and 67cm (about 27 inches too.) Below the 25th percentile x

Skyler is 66cm and weighs only 17.3lbs. He is very active smiley baby so I'm not bothered with the graphs. He has a superfast digestive system like his daddy and finds it impossible to sit still.

Every baby developes differently like each of us are different heights and weights, kinda figures that our babies would be different. My LO is 27" she's really tall for her age, doesnt mean she'll be tall later or that your LO is short :)

Thanks everyone. She is eating properly and all so we'll just keep up with that. Nothing wrong with being a short and thin girl! I wish I was.....I just got the short part, LOL!

Ugh.. I wish Colton was small! He would be so much easier to carry around! :dohh:
I'm really short too (5' 0") and he is already almost half as tall as me. I cannot imagine him being like 2 and wanting me to pick him up! Theres no way I will be able to!

I'm 5' as well...just barely reached it this year! My little nephew who is two is up to my waist, which freaks me out. I'm sure when Adam is born he's going to be taller than me by the time he's 4 or 5, lol. THat'll sure look funny...

 Oh boy, my OH is like 5'11 or 6' so Colton will probably be taller than me well before he even hits his teens!
Everyone in my family is taller than me! Even my 10 year old brother is AS tall as me! :hissy:
Hopefully I can have a girl eventually, and maybe she wont be taller than me :D

Brenn had his 9 month check up this week and is also in the 25 % for height and weight, but his head is in the 75%. The doctor did also say that another quarter of an inch and he would be in the 50% for height, and if I was so worried we could take him back and stretch him a bit more and get it. I am not worried at all. Brenn is developing very well, doing somethings the doc would expect out of a 12 month old, and he is just a freaking happy baby. So I am pleased. That is what is most important.

Hehe, I would say she is small! As long as she's healthy things are fine. Tigs is 16lb even and 27" at 6.5mos.

Well, I suppose they shouldn't try to standardize babies height/weight seeing as they're all different...I'm glad we all have unique babies...if they were the same we wouldn't have anything to talk about! :)
