Hi girls,

The mystery thickens!

I had an early ultrasound last friday due to very slight spotting. The sonographer couldnt find anything so i have been in for bloods since.

1st hcg: 163
2nd hcg: 227
3rd hcg: 344

I had a repeat scan on Tuesday and still nothing!

My dates are definately correct, last had intercourse a month ago!

Yesterday i had a smallish loss of very dark brown blood, enough to require a panty liner but nothing more. It lasted about an hour, then stopped. I went into the hospital at the drs request last night so they could examine me. They said my os was closed and all they found was very dark brown old blood by my cervix.

So as my preg test was still positve they sent me home and told me to come back for more blood works and a scan in a week.

I just wish i knew what was going on. I hate this living in limbo! My husband shrugs it off and just says "your obviously not pregnant" and i feel is completely unsupported. As he has seen no obvious baby on scan, he feels i am not pregnant.

I just want to know whats going on.

Any advice would be really appreciated xx

Didn't want to read and run, but I don't have an answer. Just try and stay relaxed. I will be praying all is OK. xxx

You are pregnant as you have hcg in your blood. That means that you have conceived. Non pregnant women have a level of 5 or lower, tell that to your husband.
Unfortunately, there is obviously some concern about if your pregnancy is viable or not. They will be able to tell you that in a weeks time probably but if you are sure of your dates I would be prepared for bad news in your situation.
If it does come to that it does not mean that you were never pregnant. It just means that it stopped developing early. One name for that is a blighted ovum.

Hopefully I am wrong and you will go back and see a better result next week, but really by 6+5 you should have been able to see the baby by now.
Have they excluded the possibility of ectopic? I expect so as they wouldn't have sent you home for a week otherwise, but if you get pains, go straight back in.

Wishing you the best of luck. You need to have a word with your husband though and explain to him that you are pregnant as you have had a positive test but you are worried about how it is going and need his support.

hi im not an expert but my sister went through this and the baby was also unable to be found, unfortunately hers was an eptopic pregnancy and it was in her fallopian tubes hence the reason a preg test was still saying pregnant. Im really hoping this isn't the case for you,.maybe you could have a titled whomb??

hope it all goes well .xxx

Thanks ladies. I have just had some more cramping pains and another loss of dark brown blood (very very small clots/stringy) sorry if tmi. im driving myself mad here, as i just dont know what to do! x

iv no advice but wanted to day i wish for the best for you and i sorta second what kat2504 said xxx

As you are having pain and bleeding I would urge you to give the EPU a call. It may just be the start of a natural miscarriage, but I think you should definitely seek medical advice.

I too agree with Kat. Iam sorry you are going throught this. As to whether you go in or stay home, I found having an early mc easier to handle at home, with a follow up at the doctors in a 2 weeks time. Hugs, and I am so sorry, and I am so sorry your DH is acting the way he is. You ARE pregnant, and he should support you, you will need it. Hugs!

Hey hun.Im soooo sorry for all the confusion your going through.I would defo ring and go the EPU or ER at your maternity hos.Praying for you xox
