I can't help feeling cross when someone says they want lots of children, but don't think of the wider consequences or if they have one/some they didn't really want and don't look after properly.

Saw 'Is Breast Best?' last night and there was a teenage mum who said breastfeeding wasn't natural for teenagers and boobs were meant for sex! That bugged me. So did the woman on 'one born every minute' who decided she was going to go for number 6 - why not give other people a chance before you populate the planet all by yourself?

All pretty unfair and I feel a bit of a cow for saying it, but it's still what I feel.

I would love lots of children, but I cant seem to get one so it doesnt seem I will be overpopulating the earth anytime soon! And what an idiotic thing for that teenager to say! Boobs were obviously meant for producing milk since the PRODUCE milk lol! I dont like seeing people have child after child and dont take care of any of them. That drives me crazy! But the ones that care for their own and raise them properly then I have lots of respect for those.

I have felt the same way about people having lots of kids. A woman I graduated high school with is pregnant with her SIXTH (and we are only 28 years old!) and I can't stand when I see her posts on facebook. She seems like a good mom and I know I have absolutely no right to be upset by her decision to have however many kids she wants...it just doesn't seem fair when I'm desperate to have one baby! My brain understands but my heart sure doesn't.

I am not offended by what you said at all - I think many people feel the same way as you at times. For the teenagers who said breasteeding isn't natural, then maybe they should have thought about that beforehand.

I do not have a problem with people who are great parents and have a lot of children. If they can care for them and give them a loving, caring home with a proper upbringing then I don't see the problem, regardless of how it makes others feel sometimes. It's not a matter of giving other people a chance, however. Just because they have lots of children, does not mean that nobody else can.

not sure what country this runs in but have you seen 19 kids and counting? i think it's crazy they have so many but they raise good, respectful children and don't expect anything from anyone (from what i can tell anyway), then compare to the octomom who was single and jobless when she was inseminated and pretty much was waiting for the help to show up and is on government assistance. it's hard to see these things on a normal and even worse when TTC isn't going our way!

It's not even just my friends that have lots. I've got an awful jealousy of anyone who's pregnant right now. I feel guilty but can't help myself.
