I miss my baby cuddles!

When my LO was little he would only sleep on me as he had terrible reflux and colic so we used to cuddle all the time (well that's when he actually slept haha) and at times it used to drive me mad that I couldn't move but everyone kept saying 'enjoy them they grow too fast' my attitude was yeh yeh and really thort my boy would always enjoy cuddles as he is such a mummy's boy.

However for a couple months now he no longer lets me cuddle him he pushes me away and try's to get off and it's really getting to me now. I miss his cuddles so much. He woke in the middle of the night 2 nights ago really upset so I got him out and cuddled him and he rested his head into me and cuddled as he was sooo sleepy and it was perfect I sat in his room for ages just holding him and now it's made me miss them even more.

Is anyone else the same? My OH doesn't understand and thinks I'm being silly. Do they ever like cuddles when there older again? I hope so ....

Keelan stopped wanting cuddles at that age but in the last couple of weeks he's started climbing onto my lap and snuggling in when he watches Mickey Mouse, it's soooo cute! Hopefully your lo will do the same, I missed the cuddles as well!!

I was just saying this to my friend the other day! She's having her section in a couple of days, and I told her that she needs to enjoy her squish cuddles while she can; all I get now are sharp nails, pulled hair and flailing fists. If it wasn't for the sleepy hugs I sneak out of him I'd be an abused Mummy!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. My LO stopped cuddling when I stopped Bf at six months. But she was alway very independent anyway. She's a year old now and she comes and finds me for a cuddle for courage before running off to to her exploring thing. I get a cuddle before bedtime and one in the morning.

Before she would just sit there when I pick her up and now she wraps her arms and legs around me.

Think I'm just being abit emotional ATM as I'm due back work soon and want to enjoy these last few weeks.

Our LO stopped sleeping on us at about 7 months and it broke my heart! The only time she wants cuddles now is when she's super tired or really sick. They're not babies long enough.

my older son (23 months) LOVES cuddles - asks for hugs throughout the day, so, yes, i'd say it can come back. In fact, i think I cuddle him more than the baby.

They go through stages even when they're older. My brother is 9 and he held my hand the other day while crossing a parking lot. I obviously pulled my hand away and looked at him in shock and said "what are you doing? are you sick?" Basically because he hasn't held my hand in a parking lot in ages. It was a shock but it was nice to be able to look at him as a little boy again and not the big tough guy he tries to be. My LO already doesn't snuggle me except when he's asleep, it makes me sad!
