Any recommendations?

My beloved Mini Cooper is pretty much on her last legs- 225,000 miles, one other owner and 11 years old so she has done well but I am spending more on her getting fixed up at MOT/Service than she is worth.

I would love another Mini but realistically can't afford to buy one.

What does everyone have? I ERF- it is a little bit of squeeze in my Mini but manageable so it's important I can continue to ERF.

Looking for something that is reliable and will last me 5+ years.

Looking at spending no more than £6000 at 2/3 years old.

My sister drives ford focus 2007 and she loved so do I !
I use to drive vw golf diesel estate and it was (well is still my oh uses for work now)cheap to run and tax it!i have BMW x5 I love it its older car bought from my Fil it is quite pricey to run but comfort it gives u when you drive it is winning!!especially when u have kids!!!its big and safe.i do love minis to but I can't drive small car(I don't feel confident)
What if you go to mini dealer and ask for 2-3year old second hand mini paid what you have and rest take in finance would that be an option ?

I never thought of that!!! Will go down on Monday and talk to them. Thank you

I have a new shape corsa. I have the 3 door version though. There is tons of space in the back but would be easier to have 5door. Can get them under your budget too.
Also good boot space. X

Look at the Aygo/C1 - we have one as a run around, and it's brilliant.

Cheap as chips to run, not had any problems with it so far at all, fine on the motorway, can park it virtually anywhere, less engine noise than our BMW at 70mph, holds on in corners very very well and has a very engaging tall-geared engine that is good fun to drive.

I've just got a 2010 Peugeot 207 and I love it! My DH bought it at auction for me for £5,000 which I think is a bit less than they are worth, you can pay up to £6,000 maybe more for them. Its quite roomy inside too, compared to my old Toyota Yaris it is anyway.
