My 8 week old is currently on aptimil comfort and 10mg on omeprazole, I think the omeprazole is working but I think the milk is going up and down her pipe as she chokes and gags shortly after feeding and gulps like she is keeping it down. Would an anti reflux milk help as I'm thinking a even thicker formula might help x

My little man has reflux. We moved him onto Aptamil Anti-Reflux and it reduced the amount he was throwing up but he still had silent reflux and a lot of discomfort. We were at the paediatrician and he told us the anti reflux milk wasn't thick enough and that we would be better using aptamil first milk and adding carobel to control how thick it is. You can just buy it over the counter at the pharmacy

Did this make a difference to the silent reflux? and is all the amounts on how much of the carobel to add? As my LO doesn't throw up but she gulps it back down x

The paediatrician just told me to start at 2 scoops and keep upping it until I thought it was helping. We are on 5 scoops and its really thick but he is having a wee bit of silent reflux like you describe. Want to talk to the doctor today before I up it to 6 because its going to be practically solid. My little ones reflux is very severe so you might find a scoop or 2 will do the trick. Plus it saves u buying new formula! Only downside is carobel nappies are....special!! Stock up on wipes lol
