the wedding is only 3 weeks away yet i am sat here in tears.

All i ever wanted was my grandma & grandpa there but sadly they are both dead, we have a very close family friend who has over the last 8 years become my 'grandma' in every sense of the word.

a couple weeks ago she was diagnosed with cancer, and well she is going down hill fast, we have been told it is very unlikely that she will still be alive for our wedding

It just feels so wrong, the 3 people I want there and it is looking like not 1 of them will be there now, i just dunno how i can get through the day without any of them there

:hugs: They might not be there in person hun but im sure they will be watching over you.

Try not to upset yourself :(

:hugs: try not to be upset hun, like PP said they will be there in one sence or another,

I was Gutted that my grandmother couldn't make it to my wedding, she passed away a few months before hand and my wedding was going to be the first time all the family had been together since her funeral,
I asked the vicar to say a few words during the ceremony about her and how she was with us all in spirit ... it really helped make it feel like she was a part of my day.

:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: Oh sweetheart. They will be watching over you. Maybe you could go and leave your bouquet with them at their graves, or have pictures of them on their wedding day on your cake table so they are part of your day? xxx

That's a lovely idea. :hugs::hugs: buttonose

Awww it's perfectly inderstandable to feel that way and i'm sure we can all relate try not to get too upset they wouldn't want you to be feeling like this on the run up to your sepcial day, PP is right they will be there with you sharing it and enjoying the party but most of all they will want you to be happy! Love the idea for the bouquet that's a really nice idea :) xxxx

update:

well sadly my adopted grandma passed away yesterday afternoon, with 3 weeks till the wedding, I knew the second the phone rang what it was, i just knew :(

So sorry sweet :hugs:

I hope you can take solace in the fact they will be watching over you on your wonderful day xx

I'm so sorry, they will be watching over you Im sure.

Is there a way you can include them on your day? Im having some flowers that remind me of my grandparents. Iris in my bouquet for Nonna (her name was Iris) and heather on the tables for Grandad (he was scottish and loved it!)

I'm so sorry for you loss

I am in the same situation we lost my grandad both of OH's grandads
and my dad within 3 years.....

We are having special flowers made for the people who are no longer with us and this will be next to our cake as the cake will be near the top table where my dad should of been.....

I hope that you will find comfort knowing that although they aren't there in person they will be there in spirit

:flower:

O hunni, so sorry to hear that :( They will all be watching over you you know xxxx
