i thought it was every 2 weeks after 34?

I had my 34 week appointment on Tuesday and am supposed to have my next at 36 weeks but don't have it until i'm 37 weeks as they are too busy! And even that appointment is one 'squeezed in between everyone else' - MW's own words. This is my first baby and if it wasn't for these forums I would not have a clue about anything!

Mine is more or less every two weeks, between midwife and consultant anyway, but it kinda works out! i guess it depends on area and business etc!

i have saw my doctor every two weeks the entire time ive been pregnant, so im not sure...

I had my 34 wk app today and wasn't meant to see her again until 38 (but it wud make me nearly 39 as I'm nearly 35). I'm going back in 2 now though as I'm measuring 4wks behind so if I've not made up some of the difference and back within normal range I'll be sent to hospital to be checked over. So it must vary but 4 weeks seems a long time considering you're in 3rd tri - my mw is off in 2 wks and I met her cover today so seems odd. X

I am expecting my first and was advised that I will be seen to every 2 weeks after 34 weeks appt. I tried to book an appt for this week and actually spoke to midwife who asked me if everything was okay, I got the impression that she presumed that I am low risk so therefore will not need a booking for week 36 which means I have to wait till week 38. She then told me she was fully booked anyway.
My appts are always 5-10mins max and always rushed, I still have not discussed any birthing plan

How odd, the hospital of choice I had to choose before I was even 12 weeks, my doctor said it must be done immediately. Then my doctor booked me a 32week appointment with a midwife which helps you to make a birth plan, I beleive this is routine for anyone in the public health system, to think you haven't done either so close to the end is a little daunting. Do you not need to book into your hospitals to give birth there? Of course in an emergency any hospital will take you but in Victoria at least they make us book in as apparently some fill quickly and early.

In Canada its every 2 weeks starting at 28 weeks then at 36 weeks its every week... Well in NB anyway

Its that way in Ontario too.

We're every 4 weeks till 34 weeks. Then 36,38,40,41,42.

Midwives don't have time to sit down and ask how your feeling here or if you have any concerns. They just kick you back out the door again...I hate the NHS
