My IBS kicked off terribly in the first tri of my first pregnancy, I was extremely sick too, was rushing to the loo with agonizing belly cramps (I still think this is why i managed to stay so calm in labour, as labour was much less painful!!!!!!) and with a bucket to be sick, the pain probably didn't help the sickness, I was so ill and losing so much weight as I couldn't eat without being on the loo all day that the doctor told me to take imodium but only as few as possible, and if it improves not to take them at all, was signed off from work as I literally lived in the bathroom, I just wanted to curl up and die it hurt so bad, but once I got past first tri that was it, I was bunged up the rest of the pregnancy, a lot of ladies find they get constipation right through, even early on, so hopefully it will go more that way and even things out a bit!! I hope everything turns out ok for you, definately talk to your doctor about it, there may be other options available, really hoping you have no troubles with your belly through your pregnancy, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! There is a good chance pregnancy will help matters naturally though! Like me this time lol. Oh and baby turned out fine even with my taking the imodium, shes a bright clever healthy 6 year old now xxxxxxx
