How would you do them?

We decided along time ago to have sweets as our centrepieces, my first idea was big tall vases full of them then changed my mind to fish bowls, now I've changed my mind again to a vintage type jar and now I've been thinking about a collection of jam jars With them in on each table!

I just can't seem to stick to one idea!

So if you were personally doing it, how would you do it?

Hmm, for me and our wedding style it would be jam jars and sweet jars full of them, but we're having a vintagey type theme so it would fit. I'll be honest though, when you originally said about the sweets idea I imagined a big oversized vase/dish full of them. Real statement pieces. Really clean and sharp! But I don't know how well that ties in with the rest of your day?

We're doing fishbowls with them in. Did originally plan on tall vases but then decided this might be annoying for people to lean over the table and get there hands in, also had images of people tipping vase up at end of night to shake last sweets out...fishbowls just seemed easier to me.
Jamjars and vintage jars sound lovely if they fit your theme though

If you want people to help themselves, I'd do a wide bowl like a glass fruitbowl. If they're supposed to just be decorative, tall vases.

See my first plan was big tall vases to make a real statement but I thought they'd just get in people's way and block people off from each other on the table!
Then I thought fish bowls because they would still make quite a statement but at a better level but then I'm not so sure they will tie in!

Our theme is a bit vintage a bit shabby chic type of thing but nothing over the top, that's why I thought the vintage type large jar or jam jars but I'm not sure they will make the statement I'm looking for as sweets as a centrepiece isn't anything I've seen IRL nor has anyone I mention it too!

I agree, I think fruit bowl level is what you should go for if you want people to help themselves.

How about low white wicker baskets? Like these, but painted white, and you could surround them in petals/flowers in your colour scheme.

I've found how I want it :happydance: I'm so excited now!!

Im going to use jam jars instead of the little dishes! Just want to find something like the tall ones, if not ill go for a big jam jar (like one you'd get pickled onions in :haha:) with smaller ones around!

My style is a bit eclectic but if I was doing sweets then I would get a mixture of vintage bowls, vintage pots with lids, jam jars with personalised labels, and little cardboard boxes with a vintage style print all stacked up and looking a little like a high end junk shop/French bakery. I know that probably makes no sense to anyone else! I would stick to a metallic and neutral (beige and grey and murky colours) to balance the brightness of the sweets or there is danger of it looking tacky. Etsy have amazing vintage bowls and jars very cheaply, as do car boot sales and charity shops.

This is kind of what I mean:

This colour scheme and style of boxes is what I mean https://pinterest.com/pin/17381148533454047/

I'm glad ou found what you like!

I thought of a sweet 'tree', you know like a round bush that has lollipops or sweets stuck on them?
