About £2500. Would you split it into multiple holidays and days out. Or go disney land paris? Children would be 5 and 8. Neither are disney mad but do enjoy movies. We would never have this amount for a holiday ever again.
If multiple holidays where to? Could you even do more than one realistically?
If dlp, is it even doable?
Iv been looking online and feel overwhelmed at the options. Iv never booked a holiday online. Last time i left the country was over 10 years ago. Would be for 2 adults and 2 kids.
Thanks in advance.

I personally wouldn't do Disney Land, such a waste of money in my opinion. You could do so many other fun things for a fraction of what it would cost to go to Disney Land. I've never been to any DL, but both my sisters have and the cost to go to Disney Land in the US was $10,000 for a family of 4 including flights and accommodation! Sure they would have fun at Disney Land, but they could have just as much fun doing other things and it would allow you to spread the money out between multiple holidays. I couldn't give advice on where to holiday because I live in Canada, but surely there are lots of other fun locations you could visit. We travel a lot in Central and South America and can get by on next to nothing for a beautiful beach vacation. We spent a month in Mexico for $2500 total including flights.

Have to agree, I don’t think Disney is worth a special trip. I would take my kids to Disney land if we were already going to the area for another reason, but not for the sole purpose of the holiday.

I would take them somewhere outdoorsy, like a beach or somewhere with lots of easy hikes or natural wonders to see. Honestly not sure about where in Europe, but in NZ I would take them to hot pools, volcanic activity areas, wildlife parks, nature reserves, etc.

It depends on the kind of trip you want to do. Do you want to relax? sit somewhere on a beach? see some history? experience a different culture? go on an adventure?

When our eldest was 18 months we took him to Cuba. It was nice, but there were some days we struggled to keep him entertained and DH and I didn't have a great time because we couldn't do some of the same things we really enjoyed when we had gone previous (before kids). There was only so much time we could spend in the sun, water and on the beach. We decided not to do another just beach vacation for a little while.

We did a Disney cruise a couple of years ago (kids were 9 months and 6 years). It was a lot of fun for us and them. There was always something to do for all ages, the kids could go off and do stuff on their own (9 month old could be put in the daycare), there was stuff to do as a family, and things of various levels of activity. The food was also excellent and we liked having scheduled dinner times so there was always time we all spent together. We also enjoyed being able to do stuff at the various ports of call. Infinite possibilities! We are planning on going again in a couple of years. ETA: re-reading this it sounds like we didn't spend time together, but we spent most of the trip together as a family. It was lovely to ALSO be able to let the kids do their own thing while DH and I spent quality time together and we always knew what time dinner was, so that helped us plan our time.

Then last year we went to Thailand, that was a great trip as well! Plenty of adventure and new experiences for us all. Kids were almost 2 yrs and 7.5 yrs at the time. I did a lot of planning, we didn't do an all inclusive/package (but I'm sure you could) and we spent some time in the northern, central and southern parts of the country. We went to an elephant sanctuary, a cave, hot springs, a water park, went to the night markets, toured the palace etc. There was so much.

I love planning trips but I'm more of an adventure trip person than an all-inclusive beach person. If I was given money I'd think about the places on my bucket list and go from there. Maybe pick a few places that you would like to go and then start doing some comparison pricing? If there is somewhere on the list that you'd like to hit and know you will likely not have the money to do it another time that could be a driver. Or maybe you find that there are 3 other places you can go for the same price and that outweighs the "one and done" option.

Whatever you choose I'm sure you'll have loads of fun!

I second Thailand! One of the best trips we've been on and dirt cheap!

I am looking at DLP for next year ( D'S will be 7) we went to gulivars Kingdom today and he LOVE it so will see what he thinks of DLP £2500 would do DLP in one of the disneyland hotels for 4-5 nights with food.

But we have just done 4 amazing days in peaks-stayed in cottage ( £260 for 3 nights) took £300 spending AND we had a fab time.

I would also look at lego land D'S is desperate to go there.

Happy spending xxxx

You can get some really good deals for Disneyland Paris. I recently saw a deal for 4 nights 2 ad 2 ch £599. It's a very commercialised holiday though.

Last year we spent a week in France and just 1 day at Disney. That was enough for me. This year in taking mine to Turkey and Holland but I would love to take them to Lapland or Canada. Lapland would trump Disney any day imo ☺

Is lapland doable with my budget? Im too afraid to look incase it isnt and i get my heart set on it.

I think so. My friend paid £2000 for 2 ad 2 ch for 2 nights. It is a lot of money though when you could have a fortnight all inclusive somewhere sunny though!

I would definitely never choose Disney land. I know I am not in the majority here but to me that would be more of a nightmare than a treat. For me a dream holiday experience would be a Safari but I am not sure how much that would cost. I guess depends where you'd go.

I've done Disney in florida, Disneyland Paris and Lapland and the most magical is definitely Lapland though it's expensive for such a short amount of time there. If it was me I would be doing several little breaks, lots more memories made x

We've been fortunate enough to experience Disneyland Paris, Florida and Lapland. Hands down Lapland is the most magical wonderful experience, but I would urge you do your research with exactly what would be included. We went with Santa's Lapland and were roughly £3000 for 2 nights, I don't grudge a single penny!

Disneyland Paris can be really reasonable when planned carefully, we've been as a family of four for 4 nights, staying at the Explorers hotel, Disney associated so still has free transport to the parks, for £1000 all in.

Having been a few different magical places I'll be entirely honest and tell you my kids absolutely favourite holiday that they always want to go back to is Morocco.

Definitely not disneyland paris. I found it a massive waste of time and money. Im sure others would disagree though.

We are going away in june 2 adults 3 children all inclusive to fuerteventura and thats cost under £1200 so defo possible to have more than 1 holiday if you shop about.
