I am so having issues with having an appitite. I am 18 weeks along and feel so hungry but all I can see to do is drink fluids. I feel so turned off with foods and dont understand why. My doctor has perscribe to me Metoclopramide and I dont know what to do. I am just so frustrated. I just want my little girl to be okay. Does anybody have any advice?????

Are you just not craving solid foods or are you having a digestive issue??

Not sure. I know I have excessive saliva. Dont have any cravings

Hi there, I feel your pain. I also have some issues with food. Most everything turns my stomach. Occasionally, I can eat, but when I can, it is usually just a bite or two. I have found that I like fruit, and have been eating fruit smoothies like they are going out of style. Have you tried those?

No I havent but that is an excellent idea. Thank you for that. Do you make yours or do u get thm frm mcdonalds? I dnt know how to make thm..lol

I'm eating just fine (plenty!) but I know I really crave things with a high water content. Fruits like watermelon and ice pops. Maybe you could try making some ice pops out of the fluids you're drinking (assuming you're drinking more than just water, maybe orange juice?). You might be able to start "eating" solids that way. Then maybe move to some watery fruits. Good luck, I hope what the Dr prescribes helps.:hugs:

Oh yes, great idea! I started getting mine at Mc D's, so much easier but so expensive and who knows what they add in there. Then I bought frozen fruit and used the blender to make my own. It was kind of trial and error when I did it. Frozen berries and ice then added a little water until it started to blend. You can use fresh fruit too. Last week I blended up watermelon and made ice pops!

Thanks, I will definately try that

I still struggle with wretched aversions too -- anything grilled or BBQed just sets my nausea rolling. Just gotta go with ANYTHING you feel like eating. I did fruit smoothies for a long time (or milkshakes in a treat!) and still stick with pretty much just fruit/veggies/dairy.

Smoothies are super easy to make at home, if you have a blender. You can use fresh fruit or frozen. I just buy the frozen fruit bags - like strawberry, pineapple and mango, or whatever your preference. If I use frozen fruit, I use very little ice, add the fruit and you will need some liquid to get it to blend. I like to use juice, usually orange. If you want to up the nutritional value, you can add flavored yogurt to it as well, and decrease the amount of juice.

If you use fresh fruit, you will need less juice, but a bit more ice. You really can't screw it up, unless you add so much ice that it is bland.

They really are super easy to make, and have been a lifesaver for me.
