Gosh Im awful at this . Aoibheann was taking five ounces at 8, 12 , 4 , 8 , 12 and then sleep through until 8 I though wow ! we're doing amazing :happydance: Anyway the last two days she is taking maybe 4 ounces occasionally five She has become impossible to wake for her twelve midnight feed . I would get maybe two ounces into her as a dream feed and then she wakes up screaming at four for a bottle . My question is why has she cut back on the amount she is taking ? Am I right to wake her for the midnight feed and why is she suddenly waking in the middle of the night again ? I realise I started another thread similar to this but Im baffled yet again ...

It might be a growth spurt. Did u try to up her bedtime feed by 1-2 oz?

edt: does she take a dummy? she might need a comfort suck.

Good plan , I haven't given her a dummy yet . What about if I only gave it too her at night ? I dont know Im this is a controversial question so excuse me if it is , but are dummys bad for babies teeth ?

They dont have teeth yet. loooool. I dont knw, it's controversial but I dont give it to him when he's awake or during sleep. I just give it to him when he wakes up during the night (usually after 8 hrs sleeping) for a comfort suck. as soon as he's asleep again he spits it.

Regarding dummy Harriet likes to comfurt suck on thus while I am warming bottle if she's upset. There orthdontic ones so specialy shaped for babies.

Good luck :)

i personally never woke any of mine for a feed, i just let them wake when they needed it and Lana is now sleeping through from 10/11/12 till 7/8/9 (its all very ish) but yeah they do drop feeds as well so dont worry about that

I agree with suzib :) I tend to be of the philosophy of "let sleeping babies lie if you possibly can!" I know it's not always possible, and I have in the past had to wake my LO up, but in general, it's never worked well for us.

Just offer your LO as much as she will take, and it's quite normal for them to drop feeds / go longer as they get older :hugs:
