Dear Faye:

Pregnancy rates at age 40 are half those at age 35 (about 38% at age 42). We can accept you if you are prepared to move quickly AND are prepared to possibly undertake 2 egg retrievals instead of one. This is because, as the world' busiest and most experienced program, women over age 40 may have difficulty making enough eggs in one cycle to allow for a good chance of pregnancy with the gender that they desire. Rather than simply disqualify these women, we have found that by preparing for 2 egg retrievals, many of those that would have never had a chance do quite well instead.

Our PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) based sex selection program has reliably provided success rates of 100% for the desired gender since the program's inception. We will perform in excess of 500 gender selection cases this year. Our program is offered to both United States residents as well as to citizens from abroad. We operate centers in Los Angeles and in midtown Manhattan in New York city. Co-treatment with a local fertility center is often possible. This allows your treatment to begin at home, with a stay in Los Angeles or New York for the last 5-8 days of treatment. The average amount of time spent at our centers for those that travel to us is 6 days. An initial visit with our Doctors is required for program entry. When you live at a distance, you may undertake a telephone consultation with one of our Doctors to evaluate your suitability for our program. We can then often arrange a visit for you with a fertility program near your home to assist with the initial treatment exams that we require. If you decide to visit our office for your initial visit, all preliminary testing can be done at that time. The maximum female age for program participation is 41 years with a blood (serum) FSH level of less than 10.0 mIU/ml. Our services are provided without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation or country of residence. We maintain a large selection of young University student egg donors as well as surrogates for those in need. Costs for standard PGD sex selection are +/- $19,800. Following an initial consultation, the process begins with initial blood testing. The Doctor may also request a sex ratio study of the male's sperm. Instructions will be provided for these tests. Thank you for your interest in our program. Please download and review the attached file. You may begin program entry by calling us at 818-728-4600 to schedule an intake consultation. Best regards. Dinah, Patient Coordinator.
