Hello ladies

im new...sort of. i have lurked a few times. :winkwink:

Here are a few details of my story.
Been on BC since 1998. Came on and off of it a few times since then. But officially off of BC since December of 2010.
My Cycles have always been normal - every 28 days on the dot. Since being off BC my cycles have been pretty regular as well....every 26-28 days as well.
Ive never had an abnormal Pap or been diagnosed with anything "female" related.
My husband I have been TTC since July 2011, in Sept I had my annual and my dr. told me to buy an OPK. I did and used it in Oct 2011. I used it for 10 days and my tests were always negative. I called the Doc and he asked me to come in and have progesterone testing on day 22 of my cycle. Went in for that and the test came back with progesterone levels at a 4. This would explain WHY my OPK was negative.
Fun thing that also happened this cycle is that my period came earlier than normal - it came on day 25.
November rolls around and I again had to come in for Prog testing - this time my levels were at a 7 so it told the doctor I did ovulate that month. My OPK also that month was positive.

I have had additional Progesterone testing since then and its still low. And my OPK's are negative too.

My cycles have been getting shorter and shorter as time goes on. this month it was 22 days long.

I have another progesterone test scheduled for Feb 3rd.

I also bought the CBFM so we will see if this helps too.

Anyone else like me or want to give me advice please chime in. Thank you and I look forward to everyones support as i go through this journey.

forgot to ask my questions for you ladies - haha

should I go see a FS?
Should I have been put on clomid? Or should I ask for it?
thanks!

Hi there

I didnt want to read and run but have you thought about charting your temperatures as they are a great way of knowing if you are ov'ing or not

The charts look complicated but their not

I personally dont take clomid but i speak to ladies that are, i know that they all temp as its a good way of your doc seeing if your body is trying to ov as your temp drops before ov and then rises after.

In Oct your level was 4 and negative OPKs, and then in Nov it was 7 with a positive OPK so it could be that October was just an "off" cycle.

I would suggest when you speak to your doc, mention clomid to him and see what he says, he will know if its something you should do

Good luck xx

^^^ how do I temp? Take my temperature every morning?? not sure how to do this

Temping is fairy easy once you get used to it. Get a basal thermometer. I put it next to my bed. Before I get out of bed (since I get up basically the same time every day) I take my temperature and put it into my fertility friend phone app. After a month or so, it's second nature. I was on BC for about 8 years and after coming off my cycles went crazy. I never knew when I ovulated. Temping was the only way I was able to find out because my numbers were so crazy it was impossible. Temping sounds intimidating but it's not and with apps like fertility friend it's super simple. The app will tell you when you are ovulating, since for me that was the most confusing part. But basically you're looking for a major spike in the chart...it takes a few months to really get the hang of when you're ovulating, but the first month you will be able to tell if you did or not. Good luck!

Beo- I have been on clomid for 3 cycles, after ttc for 7 months (always neg OPKs) got my progesterone lvl checked and it was low like yours which prompted her to start me on clomid. I have been getting positives OPKs now. I would def ask your doctor about it since you have been TTC for a while now.. I know lots of people who have gotten BFP within 3 cycles w. Clomid!! I'm waiting for mine hoping this is my month!fx's!!!!
