just popped in from ttc forums, looking to speak to someone who has had experience of immune testing.
I wonder if anyone has been to see a reproductive immunologist?
I have had 3 very early miscarriages, all within the past 11 months.
I had been ttc for 9 months before this.
I had an appointment with the obstetrician last week and she has suggested I contact a dr quenby( who has conducted a study on natural killer cells>), I was given her email address and advised it would be quicker this way rather than the consultant referring me herself.
My question is, has anyone on this forum had the testing? How did you go about organising it and did you have to pay. Apparently the uterine biopsy rather than the blood test is preferable.
I have thyroid antibodies already and my gp has started me on thyroxine tablets to try and reduce my thyroid stimulating hormone levels. Although my thyroid levels themselves are at the low end of normal, ( there is a theory that thyroid antibodies can cause miscarriages.)recent studies show there is an improvement in miscarriage rates of pre thyroid women once started on low dose asprin.
My other half and myself have had karotyping bloods done and they are satisfactory.
I've been tested for anticardiolipin antibodies and lupus anticoagulant also which is negative.
We are due to start IUI within the next 2 weeks and I am getting rather twitchy and worried that if we do have a pregnancy that it wont end well..
Incidentally we live in scotland....
thanks for reading fellow bump stars!! Baby dust to one and all.
