important, please help..

Hey guys, i have an important question[mainly for those who chart your periods and ovulation].
I had two periods this month, i had one on August,31,2011[it wasn't much of a period and it lasted for about 2 days] but then i got another period 12 days after which was on September,11,2011 that one lasted about a week.
I am TTC and seeing when i ovulate is the hardest right now because i dont know which period to go from..
i had 2 of them so im confused if i should chart by my first period or my second..
help?

the reason im confused though is because my normal period only lasts about 3 days.

my thought would also be to go from the second. When was AF supposed to be?

in september i had one on the 3rd.
it was normal 3 days, bad cramps, etc.
but then i got one on the 31st which i thought was suppose to be when it was going to come but it was not normal, it was dark, and had alot of brown stuff[sorry if t.m.i lol] then i got ANOTHER period on the 11th of September and it looked normal but was very long.

Go by the second. This has happened to me in the past and it's very frustrating and confusing. Sometimes our cycles can do something completely whacky. So consider the 11th as CD1. Good luck hun!

it looked like a period, just very dark.
