In labour 8cm epidurals are amazing!

Aww glad you are relaxed! Don't worry, you will be able to eat whatever you want soon enough, I'm sure everyone will be catering to the new mommy!

As for the epidural, I went in at 4cm and didn't progress for hours WITHOUT an epidural, then my doctor broke the rest of my waters and I got the epidural and I progressed to 10 cm VERY quickly, so it didn't slow me down at all. I did push for awhile but didn't mind b/c I was quite comfy! lol

Good luck to you, keep us updated! :)

Woo Kira!! So jealous of you getting to meet your LO today! Hope your labour goes smoothly :) Can't wait to see the pictures of your LO!! :D

:hugs:

Hope that everything has gone great for you Kira and that your now getting to hold and cuddle your little one after a positive birth.

And as for the comments made Brandi on this thread I do have a problem with them. Inappropriate and insensitive on someones labour thread! There are plenty of other places to post those experiences to help others but in THIS instance since she was already in labour, excited and having already had the epi the level of detail was REALLY unnecessary.. thought locking the door after the horse has bolted comes to mind??

So I no I'm only in first tri so I hope u don't mind me posting but I like to read peoples labour threads! I'm sure by now uv had your baby and I hope all went well!! I just want to say I also think what was posted was absolutely disgusting I hope she dosnt read this thread until after she has her baby! There was just no need! I had an epidural with my son and without going into too much detail the epidural was amazing but I had a crappy labour anyway that would of been with or without epidural! So just enjoy ur pain free labour and enjoy ur new baby xxx

...right then. Kira - hope you and LO are doing well! I hope by now congrats are in order!

Chances are the OP is holding her baby in her arms by now so let's all be happy for her and stop the fighting please. :flower:

Congrats Kira!!! Look forward to reading your birth story!! xx

WOOO HOOOO!!! Congrats babe, glad to hear you are doing so well!! xx

Hope everything went well Kira :) xxx :flow:

Hi just wanted to say hope you are holding your gorgeous daughter in your arms now! Also just wanted to add to people that it's not always an epidural that makes the labour slower, I was 8cm when I got to hospital with my last baby (7 years ago today at around this time)! and he wasn't born until 3 hours later and I only had gas and air :)

:saywhat:

just got around to reading this....
but congrats Kira, i bet your daughter is beautiful.
Can't wait to see pictures and a proper birth story!

Any news honey?? xx

(sorry for getting antsy on your thread :flower:)

Hiya!

Popping over from 1st Trimester and wanted to say congratulations!

I had a late epidural and it was the best thing everrrrrrr. Almost fell asleep actually. As for slowing it down.. lol... I took 34 hours to get to 8cm... an hour after the epidural, including pushing, out came my son :D

Will be checking back to read your birth story and hopefully see pictures!

hope you and baby are doing great hun!

I would love to be a fly on the wall Keira when you open and start reading this thread lol

hope everything went well and you have your little princess in your arms

cant wait to see pics of her and to read your full birth story, epidural and all lol xxx

ohhh I loved my Epi when I had my DD, I laboured for 38 hours at home to 7cm and then went in and told them to hit me up (had her 3 hrs later) ... if I wasn't already having a baby, I would have had epi mans baby. SUCH relief!!! lol

Keira, hoping all is well and you're wee girl is safe in your arms. Looking forward to the pics!

Bloody hell ladies!!! lol!!

Aw, you do love me don't ya.. haha. I didn't come back on here during labour after this post, just as well as i'd never have been able to keep up!

As most of you know I had my lovely baby gal :) she's so sodding cute!!! lol and no i'm not saying that just coz she's mine she actually is, i'd fully admit it if she were ugly, haha!

Gonna write my story today providing madam doesn't wake up any time soon so just look out on announcements! :)

Thanks for all ur concerns by the way and for sticking up for me... I see it from both sides, I don't know how i'd have reacted if i'd read that story during labour but to be honest there wasn't gonna be much I could've done about it even if I had started fretting! More than likely wouldn't have and I did infact feel really sorry for bucks' experience. Mine was slightly more tamer - all deets revealed in my story in a bit! :)

Hope you're all doing well... i'm desperate to try catch up with all those that have had/not had babies that have shared the journey through the 9 months :) it's awful when you feel so tired and tied down with baby that you can't find time to get on here. I am currently sacrificing sleep (baby's asleep) for this as I just need some time to myself. I haven't had a full nights sleep since Friday :( Absolutely shattered.

Right, off I go! Postage soon :) xxx
