In laws taking 21 month old on holiday for a week

So my in laws want to take our 21 month month old girl on holiday next month. I am so excited for her to go and spend time with them and to see new surroundings... but for a week? and without us?! Im ecstatic and devastated at the same time. Of course im going to let her go, how could i not?! But ive never been more than three days without her... i think my wee heart is breaking

My son used to go skiing in France every year with his paternal grandmother and it was so difficult to let him go. Going on a plane without me...going up a mountain without me....going a week without me...I was a wreck the whole time he was gone the first time. It did get easier though each time he went and my son had a brilliant time. His Gran passed away this year and I'm so glad he has those memories.

My parents are taking beast away for a week in sept. whilst i never spent more then a night apart...they look after him everyday while i work...so puts my mind at ease (a bit.)

i wouldn't be able to stand it for that long! not as if there's anything to worry about- i'm starting to think it will always feel like this now that were moms. i'll probably be saying the same thing when she goes to school.

I couldn'tt do it. Maybe for two nights but not a week, I'd miss her too much.

Spare time? SPARE TIME?! What the hell am i going to do for a whole week without my girl! shes the reason i go out the house every day! Taking her to the park and to leisure centres and walks to the shop... i'll have put on a stone or two when she comes home!
It will be an amazing experience for her (even if she doesnt remember it when shes 10) and i couldnt deprive her of that! I will miss her so so much, what if she forgets me? or worse... she wants to live with gran and grandad instead! oh dear... i need to go lie down xx

She won't forget you, or want to live with her gran. If you're really not comfortable doing this, then wait until she's a bit older. As for what you're going to do for a week, you could:

--meet up with friends that you haven't seen in a while (if you have some)
--get into a new hobby (I've always wanted to learn to knit, paint, etc., and our local stores have classes--maybe they have something like that around you).
--go to the bookstore, and buy a new book to read (or a few since you'll have a week)
--reconnect with your DH--go on dates with him to the park, out to eat, watch movies at home, talk, etc. I find that DH and I spend so much less time talking now that we have kids.

If you do it, you'll be fine. You'll get through it. If you are seriously panicking about it, then let her go when she's a bit older.

Aww hope she has a nice time I would be the se as you, but I doubt my LO would go in the first place as she has major separation anxiety! Hope you can enjoy some time to yourself
