I am current EP'ing due to DD not latching, but it's becoming too much. I've become depressed, and my nipples are killing me.

So I am planning on moving to combi feeding. So I was just wondering if I could get some tips on how to do this best?

how i used to do it was give LO as much BM as i could & then top up with formula..

but as i was getting so sore still i switched to alternate feeds of BM & Formula but i found each time i pumped i was getting less & less out :(

i couldnt BF as she had reflux flso i had to express & add meds. xx

The way it worked best for me was pumping 3 times a day (including once in the night) and I was able to provide about 3 bottles of breastmilk this way. The rest of the bottles were formula. I imagine if you have a good supply you could pump a lot more in a sitting than I could, so it's really down to what you can manage pumping-wise I guess. I found if I made sure to get 2 letdowns or more per boob during my pumping sessions, my supply didn't really decrease from day to day.

I combi fed my DS2 and would pump every 4 hrs for the 1st few weeks and always make sore i did at 3am as this is when your bm comes i more.

Always give BM 1st the top up with FF.
When pumping do 1 brest then when it starts dripping move to the next then come back to the 1st after that 1 starts dripping and so on.
after you have been pumping for a few week you can cut down on how meany times you pump.

I found after a few months it was getting me so down i had to stop.
