increased soiled nappies-anything too do with teething?

My 5half month old son usually has 2-3 soiled nappies a day, very regular at certain times, although since sunday he is just constantly pooing, he is doing about 8dirty nappies a day, it is a bit runnier and slightly dif colour. I spoke to the healthvisitor yesterday and said that he is completely fine in himself, no signs of illness, she said it is due to teething, he has been showing other signs for about a month and a half and we still have no teeth yet. i also tried avoiding veg/fruit for two days just incase somthing was not agreeing with him, but no difference. its just that i think having 5extra dirty nappies a day seems alot, plus he is pooing in the nite now and he has been covered in it all up his back!What do you all think?

It can definitely be put down to teething! That was a side effect for Alexa when she was teething!

Dylan was like this when he got his top teeth. He was like that for about 2 weeks, I kept food diaries and tried giving him bland food but it just wasn't that. It stopped a few days after his teeth surfaced, so I second that it is a side effect of teething.

thanx for your replies girls, its still happening, thoughout the nite aswell, ill be happy when this side effect ends! feel like im changing poohey napies all day, everyday at mo!X

Chase's diapers have been like this all week. Trying to determine if it's viral as he does have a bit of coughing, stuffy nose, etc.

However, I do know in the past that teething has caused these dirty diapers and change in poo, and also a cold with the teething.

Roman is teething and he's the same. Been doing it in the night loads. Im going through clothes like no tomorrow.

He's so unsettled as well. Not sleeping much and you touch his gums and he gets annoyed.
