I'm confused why I would be offered and induction at 39 weeks.I totally forgot to ask! This is my second and she said with second or more pregnancies its an option.I'm currently trying to figure the pros and cons out.I was induced with my first at 40+2 so I do know what it's about. Why do some doctors offer this?

That would never happen in the UK.

I would not be induced unless medically needed.

Agree with PP! I have to be induced and I really don't want to be! And if it wasn't medically necessary I wouldn't be and wouldnt happen in the UK

I wonder if its just an "American" thing to jump the gun.I know DD is always measuring a week ahewd but even that's just a guess

It really seems like american doctors want to speed things up for some reason. I wouldn't do it unless there was a medical reason especially a week early.
Up here (Canada) doctors won't start discussing induction until 41+ weeks
