We put LO on infacol at about a week old as she had bad wind and little colic. We were told to use it by MW after a sleepless night of LO screaming in pain from trapped wind.
She's been on it about 2 weeks now, has it before every feed and it seems to have helped.
But... She farts loads now and I know that's what's meant to happen but I'm sure sometimes her farts and gurgly belly wake her!
I have today only given it every other feed and am considering gradually stopping all together as she burps well now.
What's your experiences/thoughts on Infacol as I've heard good and bad.

I'm giving my daughter Infacol and haven't considered stopping it just yet (she's five weeks and has been having it for a about a fortnight). The fact that LO is burping and farting means the Infacol is working - I wouldn't have thought you should take her off it just yet. Do you have to attend weekly baby clinic? Perhaps ask the health visitor there?

we started using infacol at 3 wks as Omar was abit gasy (mild colic), we only used it for 4 wks & he was fine.

Infacol worked brilliantly for my little girl (she was 6 weeks old when we used it/she is 9 weeks now)! It really brought up her wind and settled her tummy. We used it for a couple of weeks and now just use it off and on when she has wind problems x Id recomend it.,,,,, but like you say it has mixed reviews

We used it from the 3rd day on midwifes advice with DD, it helped a whole lot. She was always farty though and still is even though she hasn't had Infacol in months, I think some babies are just windy :)

i didnt know it was supposed 2 make em trump- i thought it was just supposed 2 make em burp. i might stop using it now i know that- coz its the trumps that bother him most. i had a bottle of dentinox given to me which was really good- got some massive burps out of that! much better than infacol burps. i keep meaning 2 buy another bottle. u put it straight into the milk 2, which i find easier!

We had LO on it for months, and it didn't seem to make the slightest bit of difference. In regards to the farts though; I would think that as long as they're coming out, at least they're not trapped inside. My LO used to scream when she had farts :(

I'd say the farts are a good thing, because despite them waking her, they are releasing the trapped wind which can be pretty painful to babies. Nate has been on infacol since 1 week old and its been a godsend because before he was on it, it swear he didnt burp for a week and was in so much pain! I don't dream of taking him off it anytime soon.

We used it for the first 4 months and found it really useful.

Rosie's been on it for a few weeks because of trapped wind. I think she actually burps less now but it doesn't seem to matter whether we burp her or not because it just comes out the other end - she's a champion bum trumpeter now. So as long as it's coming out somewhere, I think the Infacol's doing it's job : )

(We tried Dentinox first and didn't notice as much of a difference - plus, there's dill in Dentinox, and while I love it on fish, I hated my baby smelling strongly of it 24/7!)

Yeah I guess I'll keep her on it for a while longer I just hate the fact the farts wake her but better out than in!
She doesn't always burp when burped but she does fart so at least if there coming out one end it's good!
