Hey guys my little man is teething he's 4 months old and we have been giving him 2.5mm of calpol only at night to help him sleep but it says on the bottle do not use for more than 3 days would this apply to my son as we only give him 1 dose a day ???? Thanks oh by the way we use teethin gel in the day x

I don't think it would have harmed him if he's only been having it at night for more than 3 days but maybe you could speak to your health visitor about it ? I don't know if it's safe to keep giving him it for more than that , just because of what the instructions say x

I don't think it will do any harm. I was under the impression that it means that if baby still needs calpol after 3 days constant to go to the docs to make sure there's no underlying issue?
Lo had calpol and nurofen for over a week solid when she was poorly. Doctor assured me it was fine :)

It's just to cover themselves, all adult medicines say the same! It's to make sure you're not hiding the symptoms of a more serious illness.

(Though I would be careful giving ibuprofen constantly for more than a couple of days as that can irritate the stomach lining)

It means if the child has had maximum doses in 24 hrs for 3days take him to the doc.
We had to give lo calpol everynight for a week due to teething and hv said it was fine.
