Infection after D&C?

I had a d&c two weeks ago and have had some pain almost like a bladder infection. At first I thought maybe it was ovulation (I started to mc exactly the day af should have arrived if I hadn't been pg so I think my body was just carrying on - hence the thought it may be ov) but no temp increase and the niggling pain has become more general. I'm worried I may have an infection in my uterus, especially since we had sex less than a week after the d&c - the bleeding had stopped and I read that you can dtd once the bleeding stops.

Has anyone ever had an infection after a D&C? How do I know? We don't have follow up appointments here. Thanks for any input or advice!

I'd get straight to the doctors.

I have just come out of hospital after an infection. I had a medical management (was meant to have D&C but I started bleeding heavily so I was rushed in and given Med.... long story.)

The symptoms I had were: increased pains (very strong, like the onset of labour,) a high temperature, very bad headache, weak and pale. The doctor also said I had flu like symptoms (aching joints, not liking light, shivers etc.)

I was put on a drip, then given IV antibiotics for 24 hours. I was also constantly monitored. Turned out I "had some products" from my miscarriage, which they managed to get out.

Like I said, I'd go straight to the doctor. Your maternity unit should have an early pregnancy unit which deals with all aspects of the first trimester including miscarriages and often other gynecological issues. Infections do still happen with D&C, too.

Gosh Gucci, that sounds just horrible. Sorry you had to go through all of that. Thanks for the advice though - I don't want to mess around and get that sick (or delay being able to try again). Take care and I hope you feel properly better soon XX
