initial tests

hi im annie and has been ttc since dec 2008 and am just having my first tests consisting of bloods for me and sa for my dh i was wonderin if anyone knew what happens next if these tests show nothing?

Good luck!
I suppose that if the SA shows you DH is fine, and your bloods show that you are ovulating and have normal levels of fsh, lh etc, they'd probably have you back in to do a scan to see if there's any blockages. Dunno really as I only had blood tests but because they knew about my history they didn't bother doing any other tests they just moved straight to ivf.

thanks guys to be honest im a little concerned i may have endometriosis its funny how you spend your life thinking there will be no problem ttc but when you get to it thats no the case i thought i wasnt worried but if the truth be told i really am and its getting me down xx

I had my tests done and it showed that I had low hormones. They just said we would monitor me to see if I do ovulate. If not then we would try clomid. If I do then its fine to continue trying. That's basically it. I'm not sure on his part.

I was told I have Endo as well. My doctors are allowing me to try a few times before we have the surgery and HSG test done. It's saddening to be told there could be something wrong when you want children. I was just about to tear up over it earlier today but I try to think about it like at least I'm trying now. I could have gone several more years without knowing and who knows how much worse it could be then. It's ok to be scared. I know. It is scary.

thanks for your reply and your encouragement. i really hope things sort themselves for you too!

it is hard i guess the not knowing is bothering me but hey ho only another week and ill find out if anything is actually wrong with my blood tests and i may be another step closer to getting sorted!

Hi Annie,
We have been trying since dec 08 too!
We went for some initial tests in feb. My bloods were fine and hubbys SA showed slightly low normal morphology at 8%. He had to repeat in 6 weeks which gave the same result. They advised to repeat again in 3 months and if still less that 10% that they will refer us.

I have a friend who is in same situation but all tests were fine. They couldnt get referred until 2 years ttc as she was under 35 and tests were ok. If you have been trying for 1 year and over 35 they will refer.
