I'm about to send a check in the mail to sign up for a breastfeeding and birthing class that will be offered at my birthing hospital. I remember the nurse telling me that my insurance should cover attendance to the classes, but they ask that you send a check with your application. I'm not sure if anyone will know the answer to this question or not, but I decided I'd give it a shot. Do I send the receipt to my insurance company for a reimbursement? Or is it just likely I misheard the nurse and have to pay out of pocket? It's not a huge deal either way. The total is only $80, but every little bit helps. Thanks for reading!

Your best bet is to actually call your insurance company and ask.
I personally would be very wary of sending any money in until you actually clarify with the insurance that it's covered.

Yeah, I think I'll do that. I'm slightly worried because I have to sign up for these classes before first tri is over. But I'm only 8w5d, so I guess there's no real rush. I'm just one of those "get things done now" people.

I was looking at my insurance site the other day trying to see what all is covered, mine specifically says that classes like that are not covered. The only way to know is to call and ask, because I think it really depends on your plan more than the company, yk? Good Luck!
