I wasn't sure where to put this, but decided here!

I've been breastfeeding my 19 week old son since birth. He gets a few expressed bottles every week, but otherwise it's just me and the boobs :) But I'd like to start introducing some formula and combination feeding for the next few months, with the intent of moving to formula entirely sometime after 6 months (probably before I go back to work when he's 8/9 months).

Over the weekend we tried a bottle of formula. We warmed it like EBM and DH tried to feed him since I haven't given him a bottle. He screwed up his face and wouldn't drink it. I hadn't expected this problem, so now I need some advice on how to get him taking a bottle of formula!!

I exclusivy expressed for 6 months. then combi fed then moved on to formula. what i did to start with is for example if your baby drinks 6 ounces.

I would make 3 ounces of formula first. so 3 ounce boiled water 3 scoops leveled.
then add 3 ounce of breastmilk.
And serve once it is the right temperature.
as time went on i would reduce the amount of breastmilk.
people say you shouldnt mix so you dont waste it but i was fully aware of the quanitity she drank.
Also my daughter doesnt drink the same amount of ebm that she has in formula.

Never mixx formula powder into the ebm tho xx

I've also heard mixing works well. You could even start more gradually- 5 oz bm, 1 oz formula, then after a few days/a week try 2oz formula?
