Irregular periods post baby?

Hey guys. So I am not breastfeeding and my period returned when my son was about 7 weeks old. I was taking the mini pill and a side affect of that is constant periods! For 1.5 months I had spotting non-stop. I stopped taking the mini pill after 3 months because my script ran out and I have been waiting for my period for almost 2.5 months! I had unsafe sex a couple times but over a months ago and I have taken a couple pregnancy tests which are negative. Anyone know anything about irregular periods post baby? Or maybe a side affect of the minipill? I haven't had my period since before Christmas...
