Hi All,
I'm 7 weeks today and really want to keep up with my spin class on a thursday evening, do you think this will be ok.

I know that cycling is ok - so thought this would be too?

xx

I'd have thought so - just drop back the intensity and don't let yourself get out of breath. And make sure you tell the teacher!

Also - don't know what your spin class is like - but at mine we do squats and stomach locks while sprinting. I wouldn't do anything like that which works your core quite hard...

I had heard (years ago) to avoid cycling while pregnant? Not too sure hun, I'd just double check with a GP or OBN

I understood that any exercise is ok as long as you don't over heat or get breathless. Apparently you should avoid high impact and anything using your core. I would check with your mw though.

I heard that spin was an exercise you should avoid because its quite high impact, and you will sweat a lot and will raise your core temperature.

i am a runner and do other exercises too like circuit classes. when i asked my gp if i could continue running as well as to ab work, she said yes.

If you are already active in spin and have good cardio, it's perfectly fine to keep on doing it.

I was still doing spinning classes up until 4 weeks before my daughter was born! Think being fit really helped with the pregnancy, birth and coping afterwards

my doctor said that "if you ran marathons before you got pregnant, you can run them while pregnant" so your spin class would be fine! Just dont go starting any new exercise regime. If you still feel unsure then ring your midwife im sure she will put your mind at ease! Just stay hydrated
