Is Banjo for a middle name too goofy?

My friend's son is called Banjo. I love it. You probably hear it a bit more down this way (NZ/Aus) as there was a very famous Australian poet called Banjo Patterson.

I say go for it. Love Gideon too. Honestly, Gideon Banjo is one of the best boy's names I've ever seen on here. I'm a bit jealous, haha.

Just adding that I was sitting with my husband when I checked this thread again, and he said he thinks Banjo is pretty awesome for a little boy's MN

Also, I noticed in your signature that your OH works for Ben & Jerry's. If you guys get free ice cream, I'm super jealous

Thanks ladies, now my husband is saying he doesnt want Banjo after all. Of course! It's grown on me though, so we will see!

And yes, RandaPanda, we get more icecream than we could shake a stick at it! We dont eat much anymore, but my girls love going to the factory, which is about 15 minutes away to go on the tour, get an icecream cone, etc. My husband is even good friends with Jerry himself!

Like others have said I think middle names are kinda anything goes, personal meaning is normally heavily involved which is what makes them unique. At least it's not something that a mean nickname could be used like a boy i knew in primary school, harry third (the third harry in his family) ... his nickname?? Hairy Turd kids can be cruel! But he isn't any worse for wear, pretty sure he is in his last year of law school now

Banjo would make for an awesome nickname too. If it was my middle name I would use it a lot.

I think it's cute as a nickname lol but wouldn't have the nerve to use it for real.
