Hi ladies...

I have another thread in first trimester about my severe sickness and someone commented saying don't take it cos they did and they had a miscarriage the next day???

Now I'm panicking like mad, is it safe or not?! I can't possibly go on being sick but I'll have to if buccastem isn't safe!

Yes i had it but for more ling term they use zantac

I've decided not too risk it, I've read tonnes of horror stories about these tablets. Just wanna cry now I really do, with no tablets I'm so sick :,(

Sweety i had buccastem with all my pregnancies
If that girl mc the day after then I'm sorry to say but her mc was already in progress. Take one today (even the mws in triage gave me it) call doc or mw first thing tomorrow and ask for Zantac.

It is of course 100% your choice but don't listen to the negetives in first tri.

Just double checked the 2 ive been put onto until 32 weeks they are called Zantac and stemitil but i still have half a script of bucastem left from 3weeks

He told me he was prescribing me stemetil and I assumed this was them but obviously it's not? It says prochloperazine malaeate on the front?

Oooh its the same stuff. I never noticed that but i just checked on boots website. So yea you're deffo safe huni. I can grab the actual link i copied this bit from if you want:

PROCHLORPERAZINE MALEATE

Brand Name(s) : Buccastem, Stemetil

Dunno if my last message came across so here it is again. Copied from boots website

PROCHLORPERAZINE MALEATE

Brand Name(s) : Buccastem, Stemetil

I never even noticed it was the same stuff

Thanks for that, doctor phoned me though and said he going to change it anyway, I didn't quite catch the name but something that began with a Z but wasn't Zantac, zentil or something don't know x

Zantac it erm ranitadine or something as the chemical name

I was originally prescribed bucca stem in first tri but it didnt work for me :( I remember being worried too and I think when I read the info it was ok unless in 3rd trimester where it can cause side effects but I just wasn't comfortable taking it but I tried it and it didnt work anyway I've been on metaclopramide and zofran since xx
