Is cheese made with calves rennet safe?

I don't see why not. Cheese usually is made with it and the guidelines only mention the french type soft cheeses with veins.

Thanks Peanut - Thought it would be fine, but just wanted to check... I've never read whether cheese is made with it or not before getting pregnant lol.

Thanks for the reply! x

I've just been told that anything unpasteurized should be avoided (brie, goats cheese, unpasteurized milk, blue cheeses) as they are more likely to have bacteria that are harmful to baby or can cause food poisoning such as listeria. I'm not sure whether the rennet has anything to do with it?

Most cheeses are made with rennet. It's nothing to do with pasturised etc.

Basically all cheeses fine except mouldy, soft and unpasturized!
