Firstly a disclaimer - I have PCOS and I am a complete stranger to my body!
Ok this month I was curiously interested in CM after reading about it on here. At round about when I was expecting ovulation to occur, I experienced a painful ripping sensation on my right hand side (I have this only occasionally) and figured that was probably ovulation pain. However the CM was not right for this at all (I even broke an egg to have a look!) just tacky and lumpy. So the two weeks came and went and no period appeared. Figured the pain was probably just a cyst bursting and once again I was having another missed period. I keep an eye on the CM for the following week and a bit but there was no changes. However just over a week ago I noticed that it had turned to what looked like EWCM. Unfortunately we had managed to give each other thrush so were 'out of action' and I also put the EWCM down to the thrush. I started a period this morning which was a nice surprise as I was convinced I was skipping this month. I am right in thinking that you only get a period if you successfully ovulated? Also am I right in thinking that EWCM occurs 14 days before the period - hence the infamous 'two week wait'? I am just wondering if what I saw was thrush related or was the real thing even though the time scale was wrong!
