My son is an attention-seeker. Constantly talking, interrupting, doesn't like independent play, wants to do what I am doing All. The. Time. I thought it was a baby thing, he was very clingy. Then I thought it was a toddler thing, talking a lot, asking tons of questions. Now he's 5  Is he ever going to grow out of it? My 17 month old is more independent than he is!

Eldest is 7 and still waiting :haha:

My 4 year old is like this too - he'll be 5 at the end of October. I'm still waiting for him to figure out he should use his initiative and go and do something he wants to do!

My almost 2 year old is better at independent play than he is. DS2 will just go and find something to do if no one is paying attention to him at any given moment, but DS1 will hang around pestering and making a fuss until he either gets in trouble or someone plays with him.

They both get plenty of attention, but DS1 still can't seem to figure out how to amuse himself for 5 minutes. I've often wondered if it's because he seems to want to compete with his younger brother... I'm just not sure.
