Is it first come first served on the day with electives?

Hi All,

Elective C/S on Monday! Is the order that you go in based on a first come first served basis (emergencies aside of course?). Just thinking if it's worth getting there extra early?

No, you'll already be booked into a slot, mine was 3rd except for emergencies, but on the day of my cd, they had 2 rooms in use, so I was in and lo was born by 11.16am!

They will book you in according to priority, I was first there & got seen last as my op & pregnancy was straight forward (apart from lo being breech).

i was allocated a time i am sure. There was a mum there who had previous emergency c section, me- daughter measuring small. and a lady with twins. The prev emcs went frist then me and then twins....dont rele understand the order but hey! i felt sorry for the lady after me as i had complications in theatre so she must have had to wait hours! my daughter was born 10.34a m

I was given a time slot but told to be prepared to be pushed back for any emergency c sections that came in. I think I ended up having mine an hour later than planned due to a few emergencies.
