Is it me or do sippy cups make the contents smell of plastic??

Hi all,

I bought a Tommy Tippee sippy cup and washed it thoroughly. However, it made the water inside taste disgusting (like plastic)! I then sterilised it in the hope that it was just not clean enough, but it's still the same. I bought a Mothercare branded cup today and it smells and tastes exactly the same!

Is this normal??

I bought my LO the Tommee Tippee sippy cup and it smelt/tasted like that for the first few uses, then was okay after that.

Me too, I just bought Issy a tommee tippee sippy cup and I thought it smelled awful! In fact it made me think my kettle was in dire need of descaling (I put water in it) but it wasn't, it was the cup. Good to know it will wear off though.

Ive noticed this for the first few time you use it but it then wears off x
