Is it ok to drink 2 pints of milk a day??

I can't get enough of milk either. I go through 2 gallons weekly and I didn't get this way till third tri.

I go through about the same. I keep asking DH if he drank any and he always says no. I'm always shocked when the gallon is gone that I did it all by myself. I drink skim so I'm not worried about the weight gain with it though.

I probably drink that much a day due to heartburn!!! But, you can end up with iron deficiency anemia due to the fact you're too full to eat and are less likely to eat food with iron because of that. And another problem is weight gain and saturated fat.
But, I highly doubt 2 pints is too much, since you probably don't drink that much every single day!

i do have anemia and i'm on 2 iron tablets a day. do you think this has something to do with it?

Just don't take your iron with milk and leave a couple hours between taking your iron and between drinking the milk and you should be fine.

We get through between 20 and 24 pints a week between me and my hubby, however, most of that is me!!!

My midwife toldme at my34 week apppointment yesterday that it i good to drink lots of milk. She said that in the last few weeks, the baby is basically fully formed, but just needs to put on fat before coming out, so milk is one of the best ways for it to do that apparently. Maybe this explains why somany of us are craving milk?

If youre worried about weight gain switch to fat free milk... its not as tasty though

Im the same.....it better be ok.....it was all I I could keep down for 21 weeks of my pregnancy!!!! and now i get through about 2 pints a day too!! I still find eating hard so whenever Im really hungry I just have milk! it always takes the edge off so it must be doing something! (I find that sugary treats still leave me hungry!)
isnt milk a 'whole food' anyway? which means we can survive on it alone....technically if it is you could have 2000 calories worth a day with no probs if that is the case?? thats about 4 pints a day of smi skimmed I think??

anyway I think the body would stop you drinking it if it was a problem!
yes to milk!!!!! I couldnt live without it!!!!
:hugs:
