Been taking metformin for pcos for the last 2 months. The other week I had 3 alcoholic drinks (2 beers, 1 glass of wine) and ended up vomiting and woke up with a headache. So was wondering on a special, social occasion would I be ok to not take the met and have a couple of drinks without if effecting me too much? and would not taking it for one day adversely effect the progress made by the tablet? thanks

i don't think not taking it for one day will have adverse affects. There have been many times where I missed taking my pill one day.

I'm not sure if missing one day of pills will ensure that you don't have those symptoms.
Drinking alcohol lowers your bloodsugar, and so does Met, which is why its recommended not to do both together.

Metformin doesn't actually lower blood sugar. It makes your pancreas work more effectively. So if you have high blood sugar it lowers it, but it doesn't lower it if you have already have a good number. I have low blood sugar and metformin has actually helped me not have low blood sugar. My pancreas was releasing too much insulin making me dip low, but with metformin my blood sugar hardly ever drops low anymore.
