Is it wrong to ASK for a baby shower?

No that is extremely wrong of her to ask for a baby shower. Entirely not right and against every etiquette I've ever heard. Throwing a baby shower is a big deal, requires a lot of time and effort (and money) on the shower-thrower. Tell her if she wants to be so involved and plan everything she should really throw her own shower. I would be mortified if one of my friends asked me, even if I had been planning on doing one for them, I would probably change my mind entirely just because of how rude that is!

Personally, I think 3 showers is excessive. I have never heard of having multiple showers, and to me it seems a bit greedy.

I also wouldn't ASK someone to throw me a shower, ESPECIALLY if I already had 2 showers lined up.
