I know not to go by the back of the milk box as every baby different, but Alyssa is still having 4oz bottles 5 times a day (every 3 hours) she normally has an extra one at 4am but she has started sleeping through, so now she just has the 5 4oz during the day, thats 20oz! to me that seems like too little as if she dropped the 4am feed she should surely be drinking more ??
Last time she was weighed 6 weeks ago she was following her line, and waiting to get her weighed on Fri. I dnt know whether to still wake her at 4am? or let her be ??

if thats all she wants then she must be getting enough.

my little one is only 3wks and she is taking 22oz a day - so i would think yours should be on more.

i would wake her for a 4am feed!!

Try a dreamfeed hun, rather than waking her. Evie has a dreamfeed at around 12-1am and she sleeps from 10pm till 8am, so the dreamfeed works well for us

stupid question... how do you dreamfeed? :dohh: lol

It's a feed given when the baby is asleep.
For example with Evie, we usually give hers a few hours after her last bottle (last bottle at 9ish, dreamfeed at 12-1am) We'll pick her up gently from her cot, having already prepared her bottle and then just pop the teat in her mouth...she starts sucking almost straight away and usually stays asleep, even when winding her! We can usually get away with changing her nappy too and she goes down again with no problems and will sleep till 8am

Lol i have tried that but then she becomes so alert i spend the next 2 hours amusing her.

Went to the drs tho as she was only having 2oz today :( so have to feed her as normal, try not to wake her at 4am and put a gaviscon sachet in each feed. Fingers crossed she gets better :) x

Lol yeah Evie was like that with her first few dreamfeeds..they ended up being playtime
Hope that Alyssa gets better soon hun :hugs:

my lo is nearly 5 months and only takes around 19oz a day!! but today he has had 4bottles so far and only had 12oz so far but i think he is teething but he is happy enough he is so active now started weaning to try and get him to put weight on he is 11lbs

Omar is the same. He still take 4 or 5 oz bottles 4 times a day. If I follow the box I should go for 6 oz 5 a day. As long as she's growing, it's fine. Some babies have a big appetite others dont. Just to let u knw that my LO is about the same age of urs, & he hit the 90th percentile. He also sleeps through & can go for 8 hrs without a bottle.

Sounds abit like Alyssa except she has 3 to 4 oz now 5 times a day and also sleeps through the night, she goes 12 hours  I weighed her today and shes still on right curve, its just shes dropped an oz

Try the dream feed. I give him one, at 7:00am even if he's sleeping (after 8:00 hrs). I struggle a bit to make him finish his bottle & most of the time I only succeed to give him 2-3 oz, but it worth a try. He stays sleeping until around 10:00 am

Try to sshh her & tell her it's still night. I knw it's sometimes tempting when she starts smiling & begging to play. u can move her to ur bed (this is what I do) & just try to put her back to sleep.
