I went in for an ultrasound today, and baby measured 1 pound, 5 ounces. (will be 23 weeks tomorrow) But according to my weekly updates, baby is supposed to weigh "almost one pound." Is she too big? Or is it normal for her to weigh this much at 23 weeks?

that is quite big for a 23 weaker but I wouldn't be worried. IF your fundal height starts to measure really big they might check her size again. Are they positive about your dates? I think she is only about a week or so a head of her weight. do you have any gestational diabetes or diabetes in your family?

but in general it is big for 23 weaker but remember that ultrasounds are not totally accurate when it comes to guessing weight. THey can be off in either direction ......... soI wouldn't worry!!!

Every baby develops at different rates. The books are just an estimate of what they "should be". If you asked everyone in here what their baby weighed at X amount of weeks every answer would be different.

My baby was 1 pound at 21 weeks I was told to expect her to be similar in weight to my son he was born at 39 weeks at 8lbs 14oz so not to big but big enough :)

i have a friend thats son weighed 4lbs at 21 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol but its about the same as my little girls weight.

A ticker I have one fb says my baby should be almost 2 pounds right now. So I wouldnt think that was big. but Im no expert. and the ticker you have right now says baby weighs more than 1 pound. So I think yiour ok

No that's fine!!! Don't worry!! When they talk about fetal weight its usually an "average" they come up with! It doesn't meany you have gestational diabetes or anything!!!! Every baby is different! At 21 weeks my baby was measuring just under 1lb...and that was slightly under average. At this point baby is gaining about 6oz a week! Don't worry!! When I was pregnant with my son, at 24 weeks he was 2lbs! And the doctor said that was normal and fine!

mine weighed one pound six ounces at 23 weeks and 3 days so yours sounds the same as mine.xx

I have never heard of them getting the weight right they told my SIL that her baby was 13lbs at 37 weeks and he was born 9lbs. They told my sister that her baby was 3lbs at 40 36 weeks she cam a week after and was 7lbs. it is just a guess.
