on how long you have to stay in before you can take out a new born baby?

I know it probs sounds like a silly question, but someone said to me the other day your not allowed to take them anywhere for 10 days??

xx

I'm not sure. : / Think it's down to personal preferance and when you feel comfortable enough to take your LO out. Someone will have a good answer though... just not me. :) xx

there aint a rule its just whenever you feel ready!!
but some people suggest waiting a ween untill you get the hand ov everything,

but there aint a rule (i asked loads of people this question)
plus my aunt took her son to makys & asda as soon as she came out of hospital

I think it's when you feel upto it! The midwife when I left the hospital didn't say anything about not taking her out for a few days etc. I had LO on the Sat night, came home sunday morning and didn't take her out until the tues and that was only a trip in the car to see OHs Nan. Been out alot since, walking etc but taking her out somewhere properly on Thurs :D It's just when you feel ready really hun.

Lol bless, whenever you like! It could be the same day your baby is born if you felt up to it :hugs:

Yep as far as i know you can take baby out anytime. My mum took me out as soon as i was born to the supermarket XD she had no food at home as i came late and they had prepared early :P Good job i slept throughout

ooooo thats good then, I was dreading being stuck in the house for 10 days.

I want to be able to show my baby girl to the world :D

xx

i went out at 5 days bc she didnt fit any thing all her socks just fell of and her clothes were to big 4 her so i had to take her out i think its all down to when your ready

no there is no rule that says you have to stay in a certain length of time. If there was then hospitals wouldnt let you out of the hospital for a certan length of time.

I know when my mum had me & my MIL had my OH, they both talk about how mothers were made to put the baby outside in the pram in almost any weather (apart from rain & fog) as soon as they were born.

I'm sure there is no set rule, it is just whenever you feel ready x

Anything after 6hrs if the labour went ok and also when you feel ready.

You can take them out whenever you like. A walk would do mum and baby the world of good.

I stayed in hosp 12hrs with my son and then went to a birthing centre.

I had to stay in 72hours with my daughter due to Group B strep.

Honestly I probably won't want anyone to see me after I give birth for a while. I'd be in hiding for at least two weeks lmao :haha:

:haha: I felt like this but had soo many visitors I was like god I look awful try not to look at me  expecially as I have bad roots atm from not having time to get my hair done.

I was so exhausted all the time for the first two weeks. Her first official outing was to her 2 week checkup. I'm finally getting ontop of the tiredness so hopefully we'll get to go out more now. :D

There is not set rule no :) on my way home my mum and dad had to take me into tesco for formula since I was 17 days early lol.

My friend also had her baby girl out on walks and such within 4 days of the birth :) just when you feel upto it is when you go out.
