Hiya I found out on here about a vitamin called "agnus Catcus" which is meant to be good I just ordered some last nite..... oh and u good also try "zinc" for DH......

Concieve Plus is also meant to be good I have some on the way!

lots and lots of :dust: xxxx

There's Soy Isoflavones. It is supposed to work similarly to Clomid:flower:

Google Soy Isoflavones, that is supposed to work similarly to Clomid:flower:

soy isoflavones are good, act just like clomid but from the research ive done (ive done alot!) there seems to be a slightly higher success rate on this than compared to clomid. also ive known of som ewoman whove been on clomid for months then go and get a :bfp: on their first or second cycle of soy. theres less side effects as its natural, doesnt dry up cm like clomid can. only thing is with soy is you need to take double dose of the active ingredient (soy isoflavones) to equal that of clomid. i.e 100mg soy = 50mg clomid. the best success rate has been with 200mg soy taken over either cycle days 3-7 or 5-9. theres been rather alot of soy :bfp:'s on the FF forums over the past 6-8 months so its worth a try. im trying it if i dont fall pregnant this cycle as i have anovlulatory months every other cycle so going to try and even myself out if i dont fall this month.

also the best success rate from what ive seen is on the second cycle of soy.

oh and another thing :haha: with soy there arent the long term side effects like increasing the chances of ovarian or cervical cancer in the future, its all natural so no dangers. xx

i would be very careful with agnus castus can mess your cycles up rather than help them. they are good for people with long irregular cycles as it helps shorten and regulate the cycles but from what ive found ive not seen any evidence on it having a positive effect on ovulation like clomid or soy isoflavones do. the only effect on ovulation it does have is not directly on ovulation it just helps balance out the hormonal surges throughout the cycle. i.e if you have too much eostrogen in the begining of the cycle it helps even this out so that there isnt too much. also if you have too little preostrogen after ovulation it helps the thyroid even the levels out to just enough. ive found lots of research on the benefits of agnus castus and vitex/chaste berry but not actually seen enough positive comments on it. all ive seen is people complaining how its messed up their cycle.

if youve got long irregular cycles i would say agnus castus might help. but if you just want to help induce ovulation and help a nice big strong follicle ripen and release then soy isoflavones are the best option. xx

where can i buy these, preferably:wacko: online as I am in SouthAfrica

Thanks for all this info!!! I have a question, in your research, did some women not O at all while using Soy Iso or have O delayed even more than normal???

I ask these questions because I took 120mg of Soy Iso CD 3-7 and am on CD32 and no O yet. I do have long irregular cycles, but normally O between CD20 and 28. I really thought the Soy would regulate and make me O earlier.

I'd love to hear what you think. THanks!!

Hi, I was just about to start a new thread about agnus castus (also known as vitex), but saw people talking about it here, and thought I'd butt in!

After a year of ttc my daughter four years ago I tried taking agnus castus for a month, and then found I was pregnant! Now who knows whether it was the herb that helped or if I would have fallen pregnant anyway. It could've also been because we were due to see a fertility specialist that month, and this had somewhat decreased the stress of ttc.

I've recently been diagnosed with PCOS, which in hindsight explains perhaps why conceiving took a bit of a long time, but agnus castus can apparently help with that.

Now we've been trying for no.2 for over a year, and I've just started taking agnus castus again. It's been a couple of months so far, but we'll see what happens. I know that this herb doesn't agree with everyone, I've heard tales of awful mood swings and that it may worsen depression, but I've also read good things, especially for women with PCOS. It might be worth a try.

soy can be brought on the internet, or at your local health store. i know in a america alot of people buy theres from walmart and i know in the uk its sold in the local supermarket tescos. i dont know about local stores in south africa though hun. but you can buy it off the internet, jsut got to make sure the main active ingredient is soy isoflavones.

momtoaz- soy can affect ovulation in a negative way forthe first cycle for some as its the body's way of adjusting to the difference in hormone levels thats why the majority of people have a success rate on the second cycle. once youve finished your 5 day course ovulation tends to happen 5-13 days after the last dose. if it doesnt happen within this time then its more than likely your not going to ovulate that cycle or ovulate too late to catch. one thing you can do which is called 'stepping' where once you've had one full regular cycle of the average 28 days (even if you dont start bleeding) you can start taking soy again like you would as if you were at the start of your cycle i.e for the five days, and this should step you back up to ovulation. i know a couple of ladies on a different site that this has worked for. xx

When you say too late to catch do you mean missing O and not bd'ing at the right times???

Also you're saying if I could take soy again tomorrow for example and should O after 5-13 days? Or would this bring on AF????

Ugggghhhh I'm so frustrated and confused!!!!

i mean by catching the egg but it being too late in the cycle for it to implant properly. and if you 'step' with soy after 28 days you can take it again as if you were at the start of your cycle and it can induce ovulation 5-13 days after stopping taking it. from what ive read its best to take 150mg for the first three days and then 200 mg for the last two days to give that extra boost. and it tends to be the second cycle ive seen alot of success on.

i know how you feel aout being frustrated! when i first started looking at soy i kept asking people who claimed to be experts on it questions but they couldnt answer them so in the end i ended up spending the majority of a week at work very bad week no work to do :haha: ) looking it all up and researching it all myself. xx
