Hi girls. I'm struggling to find much info about m/c. The books seem to skim over it and talk about it 'being natures way' and when to try again etc.

Maybe there's nothing you can do and I'm sorry if its tactless of me...
Its not meant that way...

I just wondered if you guys had any advice about things you shouldn't do... or things you can do to prevent m/c.
I just want to make sure I don't do anything stupid !

I don't drink or smoke or take drugs but what about exercise etc...?

Do you take folic acid? ive been taking that since my m/c & im hoping it will help the baby when i get preg again. just because i didnt smoke or drink & i m/c it doesnt mean the chance of m/c wont happen, its just something you cant control. but theres loads that have healthy 1st time pregs :)

Thanks for that... I'm taking Pregnacare - and eating lots of spinach - so that should cover it?
Its so hard to keep a pma - I've been WTT for so long - now that cycle #1 is here - I just want to do everything I possilby can to have a sticky bean.

Good luck for next time xxxxxxx

From what I've read, there doesn't seem to be anything you can do to prevent a miscarriage so I'd just say eat healthily, drink lots of water and exercising I'm sure won't hurt. Also, just keep taking your vitamins.

Good luck x

nothing on earth can stop or prevent a m/c. Its just a way of saying something wasnt right.
xx

As far as i know there is nothing you can do to prevent it ,unless there is a specific reason.
good luck sounds like your doing everything right.

Unfortunately, if you are being healthy there is nothing else in the world you can do. Please try not to let it spoil your ttc experience sweetheart, millions of women lose one precious little one and go on to have tribes of healthy babies - Be happy and try not to stress, and it will happen
:hugs:

I agree with the others, if a pregnancy is not meant to be, there is nothing you can do to stop it.

Good luck xxx

Thanks so much for that advice.
I've been WTT for so long and I've read all the pre-conception books.
Its just sods law that it won't go smoothly... but... PMA and all that.
Just must be soul destroying when you want something so badly and it just doesn't happen. My heart goes out to all you guys xxxx

I am asking the same thing, and I am 5weeks. I dont consider myself to be pregnant, but just still trying really. Its not over yet until i know beanie is going to stay this time round, I find it hard to believe.

i keep searching to find the magic cure to make the bean stick but hey, obviously there is none. I guess whats for you wont go past you.

Good luck ladies. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

m/c usualy happen when the cromosones are not right which would result in a bad dissability its natures way of saying thats not right but this happens before six weeks in most cases x

There is nothing anyone on earth can do to stop a miscarriage - if it is gonna happen hun

Just try stay healthy & remember that the majority of pregnancies are perfectly healthy so you shouldn't dwell on possibilities of things going wrong unless you find yourself faced with a valid reason to worry x

I don't think there is anything you can do to stop this happening i have 2 children and have been trying for another for 3 years i have had 3 M/C's in those 3 years. After the 3rd M/C i and my OH had tests to see if there was a reason for it and there is nothing wrong the doctors said it was just bad luck and to keep trying. I am now 5 weeks pregnant and have all my fingers and toes crossed that this one sticks.

Oooh - that's promising - Good Luck faun!

I guess I'm just tyring to look at it from all angles and fingers crossed it'll all be fine.
Just don't want to go making any silly mistakes and put the bean at risk.
I've even stopped eating un-pasteurised cheeses and runny eggs.

Is it from 12 weeks when you can start to relax that m/c is unlikely?

Cazd, I think the likelihood of a miscarriage past 12 weeks decreases, but it doesn't disappear. Mine was at 16 weeks. I had one at 16 weeks, and a coworker of mine lost one of her twins at 22-24 weeks.

:(

oh lord. Just TTC is stressful enough - knowing that it might not all be plain-sailing must be so tiring. But like Naya said... if its not good for the baby then its probably for the best. How the heck anyone can keep up a PMA after it though...

I also lost my baby girl at 19wks - so im sorry to say it does happen but it is quite rare

Try not to worry yourself about things like this tho hun :hugs:
when you get pregnant just enjoy it as much as possible & cherish every moment of it xx

unfortually there isnt anything u can do to prevent mc/mmc hun,its just one of those awful things
like everyone says, take vits, veg, fruit etc ........... but think it is just one of those awful things hun x

K - I'm going to try and just get on with TTC and put it out of my mind and keep my fingers crossed for a BFP.

Thank you so much for your replies and good luck !
