Is this AF?

I am confused. Is it my AF or not. My last cycle of 32 days i didn't ovulate. I had my period on the 18th July. It was lighter and shorter than the others I've had but still heavy enough to use a few tampax. This cycle i got to CD 55 and started spotting. I don't this i have ovulated this cycle either. FF has put a broken line through CD 54 so i am not sure. The thing is, since i started spotting on CD 55 i have not stopped. I was taking agnus castus and cranberry until CD 53 when i decided to stop as i wasn't Ovulating. On CD 55 which was last Thursday i started getting brown cm in the morning and i thought AF was coming. By the afternoon it had gone. Then it came back Friday afternoon and went by Saturday morning. On Saturday afternoon it was alittle bit more red and i had afew drops on my knickers, so once again i thought AF was coming. By Sunday morning it had gone back to being Brown coloured cm. Then Sunday afternoon it had come back red in colour again but still not alot. Since then it keeps coming and going. Just when i think AF is here it slows down again. It varys in colour from brown to light red to dark red. It is always dark red/brown (like the start or the end of AF) on the panty liner and sometimes I only know it's there when i wipe or insert my finger. I haven't had to use anything other than a panty liner. As you can tell from my post i have no idea if this is AF or not. It is the 8th day that I've had this and it shows no sign of going. I want to try soy this cycle so need to know if it is, and what day i am on so i know the first day to try soy. Could it be that i have had an anovulatory cycle so i am only having a light period. If anyone could give me some advice. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your troubles....spotting is a pain in the bum. i'm not sure what causes it at all...you are saying that it's only occasionlly and only when you wipe? So perhaps not AF. I've been spotting for the last 3 months but it's only for 2-3 days at implantation time and in most cases just once in the morning. I know that i have been ovulating and my AF has been on time.... The doc thinks that mine is hormonal. Could yours be some sort of pregnancy spotting? Have you done an HPT? Or may be AF just about to start?... Sorry i'm not much help.... Hope all goes well

Just saw your post and thought I may be able to offer some suggestions. When i first came of the pill and started TTC, my cycle went from 27 days to about 42 days with everything in between. I noticed my periods getting a lot lighter, more spaced out and with all different types of blood and discharge. When I went for my fitst bloods, it showed that I was ovulating (although that was nice neat 32 day cycle unlike all the others) so they never actually said I wasn't ovulating, just not all the time.

Sorry, not sure about your story but have you been referred to the FS yet and started having tests? It does sound like you aren't ovulating but you need to get this confirmed asap.

Thanks for your replies. I have decided to class Monday as CD 1. I am going to start taking soy isoflavones today for 5 days. I will see if that helps me to ovulate this cycle. If not then i will make an appointment at the doc's and see what they have to say.
