Is this my period?

So we have been trying to conceive and I was due to get my period yesterday. The two days before it was due I had very light spotting. At 1 am I was woken with really bad cramps, and since then I have had really light bleeding. Heavier than spotting but not bad, as I usually have quite heavy and painful periods.
Now Im not sure if this is my period or not other than the fact that I am having bad cramps. Sorry for the TMI.
